Hi everyone! I decided to make my paid subscribers-only post this month about what I have planned for this blog.
First, here are some things I’ve already announced, though not always on this blog:
This Tuesday, June 6, I am reading a story at the OUTspoken LGBTQ+ storytelling series at the bar Sidetrack in Chicago. IT’S FREE AND YOU SHOULD COME IF YOU ARE ABLE! The show’s going to be awesome!!!
I submitted a draft of an essay on Tim McGraw’s song “Live Like You Were Dying” to the queer country zine Rainbow Rodeo, and it was accepted to run in July!!!
This past Saturday, May 27, I received eleven awards in the Illinois Woman’s Press Association’s annual Mate E. Palmer Professional Communications Contest! It was also fantastic for me to chair the High School Communications Contest and reward Illinois students’ fantastic work!!!
The parent organization for the abovementioned IWPA, the National Federation of Press Women, is honoring me and other national communications contest winners among First Place winners from different U.S. states and regions, in late June. I’m getting at least one award for national recognition!!!
I set a goal of reading 25 books this year, and I met this goal in May. I am very excited to keep surpassing this goal!!! I am reading book #30 at the moment.
And now, for upcoming blog topics and projects that I’m working on:
